The Kingdom of Verdane (ヴェルダン王国, Verudan Ōkoku lit. Kingdom of Verdun in the Japanese Version) is a western country in Jugdral, and is the setting of Chapter 1 of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. It is located southwest of the kingdom of Grannvale and south of the dominion of Agustria, a heavily forested area with a large lake in the center. It is ruled by royalty that is not of Crusader heritage.

Verdanes were very honorable, sometimes to a fault, but Gunthar was wise and more intelligent than most Verdanes. He was very suspicious of Grandbell, but was unwilling to act until Derek did. After Kagetsu Aurelac de Maar Sul's release from imprisonment during the Manster Rebellion, Kagetsu began amassing an army of Andain and rebuilt Maar Sul near the border of Verdane, eventually claiming the southern part of Verdane for himself before Gunthar could stop him.
