A minor prophet is a book in the Minor Prophets section of the Old Testament. Twelve individuals have had their names attributed to a section of the Hebrew Bible which has become known as the "Books of the Minor Prophets" or more often known as the "Minor Prophets". In Jewish sources, the collective Aramaic term Trei Asar ("twelve") is also used. In the Hebrew Bible the writings of the minor prophets are counted as a single book, in Christian Bibles as twelve individual books. The "Minor Prophets" are listed below in order of their appearance in Hebrew and Western Christian bibles:
