They were infected by both Plaga Types 2 and 3. In 2009, many residents of the African region in Kijuju were infected by the Plaga and transformed into Majini. Albert Wesker had control over the Majini even known he wasn't one, and so Ricardo Irving and Excella Gionne had control too. They appear to be more stronger and intelligent than Ganado, but were extremly similiar to them.

- In 2009, in the small African nation of Kijuju, civil unrest was rife in the area and the population were calling for the banishment of all outsiders. These disturbances were escalated by the pharmaceutical giant Tricell Inc., who had been abducting people across the region and implanting them with Type-2 Plaga, genetically enhanced versions of the original Plaga parasites discovered in Europe. The situation in Kijuju worsened as infected citizens agitated the others, calling for the execution of all foreigners. The violent Plaga hosts - now referred to as 'Majini' - began lynching non-residents and savagely killing them in public. Meanwhile, Tricell continued experimenting with the population of Kijuju, effectively turning the whole region into their laboratory.
- The Majini (meaning "spirit" in Swahili) are enemies from the Resident Evil series. They are human mutations infected with the Type 2 Plagas parasite in Resident Evil 5. According to the files on the Majini, it is stated: "The parasite attaches itself to a human host, and is assimilated by the central nervous system. Infected humans lose all rational thinking facilities and are wholly subject to control by another type of Plaga known as control Plaga (usually another infected human). Hosts may lack rational thought function, but they still retain human-level intelligence such as the ability to understand and communicate with each other. They can use tools and are surprisingly crafty when working in groups against an enemy. Also, they are able to operate motor vehicles and heavy firearms."

Similar to the Ganado Plaga from Resident Evil 4, they inhabit the spinal column and enter the host's body through the throat.
