Luce County is a county in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the population was 7,024. The county seat is located in Newberry, the only incorporated municipality in the county. Set off in 1887, the county is named after former Michigan Governor Cyrus G. Luce, a Republican from Coldwater.
