She was about to give Bilbo a special present until he vanished. After Bilbo left the Shire, Asphodel gave the present to Frodo. Sometime after her son and daughter-in-law joined the Shire Company, she would always babysit her grandchildren if they struggled with things. In the end of the War of the Ring, Asphodel arranged a funeral for her son and daughter-in-law, who died in the final battle. At the beginning of the Fourth Age, Asphodel lived through the remainder of her life and passed away in the year 160 4A.
