- "The Fool" is an anonymous, quirky character in the episode "Lardner's Ring" who works to thwart the Sheriff, rescue Will Scarlett (and himself) from hanging, and help Robin Hood and Marian deliver a message by pigeon to King Richard. He is portrayed by actor Matthew Horne.

- the fool is a japanese band, formed in April 2009. The band ceased activities in October 2012. In 2013 Gunji restarted activites under the name Gunji(the fool's Gunji) and released a new single, JOKER, on January 4th 2013. Shortly after, they toured Europe with ADATER. Since then there hasn't been any activites and their OHP closed shortly after.

Some people say The Fool belongs at the beginning of the set, some at the end. Some say The Fool represents the archetypal hero, and that the 21 other cards are events and obstacles that it encounters during his journey.

The Fool has no idea what he's doing, he has a dim idea at best who his enemies are or whether he's in danger, and only has his cheerful disposition to protect him. The Fool was often the Audience Surrogate of medieval plays, representing the Every Man or Karmic Trickster, but typically more clever than smart. In the annual Feast of Fools, he was King For A Day.
