Trivia
  • * In later issues, future villain Peyton Riley's presence was actually retconned into this issue. Prior to Arnold Wesker's murder, she is shot nearly to death in an adjacent room. After Batman, Robin and Commissioner Gordon investigate Wesker's body, she comes into the room and steals Scarface when he begins to "talk to her." This is considered the moment she went insane. * Batman mentions that Bard is among very few detectives he admires, and neither [[W:C:DC:Ralph Dibny

quotation
  • You know, I've been thinking, why do villains flock here... like birds? So many. Clustered. Why didn't a second-rate villain like Magpie move to somewhere like... like... apache junction? She'd rule in Arizona. Hell, even England. They got like, what... two heroes in the whole damn country? Imagine what Crazy Quilt could pull off there. But no. They cling to Gotham and tell the same story over and over. Always ending with them in jail or Arkham.
