There original name Pee Dee Cyclones was derived from the region of South Carolina around Florence that is usually named after the Pee Dee River. Due to being unable to reach a new lease agreement with the Florence Civic Center, for the 2007-08 season, the Cyclones relocated to Winston-Salem and renamed the team to Twin City Cyclones. They now play in the Lawrence Joel Coliseum Annex located in the Winston-Salem Sports and Entertainment Complex, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States.
