Sajjad Afghani (died 10 March 2011) was a leader of the Pakistan-based jihadi organization Jaish e Mohammed. After the Soviet war in Afghanistan, Afghani became the leader of the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen. After the end of his leadership, he became one of the founders of the Jaish e Mohammed, eventually becoming their second in command under Maulana Masood Azhar. Following several kidnapping incidents and shootouts, Sajjad Afghani became the most wanted militant in Srinagar.

After the end of his leadership, he became one of the founders of the Jaish e Mohammed, eventually becoming their second in command under Maulana Masood Azhar. Following several kidnapping incidents and shootouts, Sajjad Afghani became the most wanted militant in Srinagar. Afghani and his personal bodyguard, Belal Mandol, were killed on 10 March 2011 in a shootout with police in the Kashmir Valley, after wounding two police officers.
