The new Striker was designed with extensive feedback from firefighters and fire chiefs. It has a 700 HP DEUTZ 8v92 Diesel engine with over 2,000 footpounds of torque. This new edition has 84 sq. ft. of glass in the front windscreen, and, has crosslays, for the first time. Engine maintenance is facilitated by a walk-in, step-up platform, incorporated into the rear of the unit, making major systems easily serviced. It's available in 1500 (4x4), 3000 (6x6) and 4500 (8x8) models, with the number referring to the water storage tank capacity in US gallons. The Striker was introduced in 2001 and redesigned in 2010.
