The SA2120FM essentially replaced the prior year's SA2020FM in the lineup. The primary differences from that model are the wood species used in the body (mahogany rather than African mahogany) and neck (bubinga instead of walnut). Other features include dual DiMarzio-designed humbucking pickups, set-in neck construction and a non-locking synchronized tremolo bridge. The SA2120FM was discontinued after 2006 and replaced with the SA2160FM which is similar except that it has three pickups in an HSS configuration.
