Located in the Department of Mysteries the Death Chamber is a large, square, dimly lit room that resembles Courtroom Ten of the Wizengamot. The chamber has stone piers leading down to a pit in the centre, where there is a dais, upon which stands the Veil – an ancient stone archway with a tattered black curtain that separates the worlds of the living and the dead. It can only be accessed through a central room in the Department of Mysteries and is accessible to the Unspeakables that work within the department. During the second war there was more notice taken of the room after a battle, but the contents, and the concept of the veil and the Death Chamber are vastly unknown.
