The Deering Harvester Company was founded by William Deering. In 1902, the Deering Harvester Company and McCormick Harvesting Machine Company merged together to create the International Harvester Company. Later William's sons, Charles Deering and James Deering, took ownership of the company. The descendants of the company are still in operation today as the Case IH operations of the CNH Global corporation.
