Like co-stars Bill English and Sam Huntington, Cavemen (perhaps unfortuitously) was Kroll's first sitcom role, and his network TV breakthrough. Kroll would go on to appear in the similarly unsuccessful Sit Down, Shut Up, an animated remake of an Australian live-action sitcom featuring many alumni from Arrested Development, but while The Life and Times of Tim was cancelled, Kroll found more solid ground in FX's The League, a comedy about a group of friends and their fantasy football league.
