  • Earth 2 was a TV series in The Nineties, featuring human colonists who crash-land on a remarkably Earth-like planet and have to find their way to their originally-dedicated landing site. However, the planet contains surprises that the colonists could not have anticipated. Indeed, some information about the planet, like the fact that it's been used as a penal colony for dangerous criminals, and that it's populated by several native intelligent species, were deliberately hidden from the colonists by the government. And complicating matters further, the government has a mole among the colonists.

History
  • Earth 2 was the home of eight heroes known as the Eight Wonders of the World. They were led by the Ternion of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. These heroes became embroiled in a war with Apokolips when Boom Tubes brought Steppenwolf and his Parademons to attack and conquer. The Ternion was killed in altruistic attempts to bring down the Parademons' towers and protect the citizens of the planet. Two of the last remaining Wonders, Robin and Supergirl were taken from the world, when they entered a Boom Tube in pursuit of a figure they saw and found themselves on another world. Five years after the Apokolips War ended, new Wonders arose. A young man named Jay Garrick was imbued with super-speed by the god Mercury himself. Jay would later encounter the genetically altered treasure hunter Hawkgirl, who had had wings implanted onto her body. Elsewhere, the young billionaire media mogul Alan Scott of the Galaxy Broadcasting System would lose his fiancé in a tragic train crash, and at the same time, gain great power thanks to an elemental force called the Green Flame. Along with other heroes created by the World Army, these new Wonders would face new threats, including the remaining forces of Steppenwolf's armies.

Notes
  • This is the Post-Flashpoint version of Earth-2.Official DC Comics Description Superman. Batman. Wonder Woman. The three most powerful and beloved super heroes the world over. To people of all nations and cultures, these three remarkable individuals inspire hope, perseverance and achievement, assuring us that we have nothing to fear from anyone looking to do harm to our world and its citizens. Imagine, then, what might happen if they were all to fall in the same battle. Many people would lose hope and drift into despair. But Jay Garrick, Alan Scott, Kendra Munoz-Saunders, Thomas Wayne, Val-Zod and many other men and women of Earth-2 saw it as a calling, rising up to form a new generation of heroes determined to pick up where the previous ones left off. It won’t be easy. Not always trusted by the people of their world, these new heroes will be tested from all sides, never more so than by the beings that destroyed their predecessors in the first place—the evil New Gods of Apokolips. With the fate of Earth-2 on the line, these diverse individuals must put aside their differences and stand together, succeeding where others before them have failed, freeing their world of the threats seeking its destruction. They must do this in Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman’s honor… or risk befalling their fate.

This show was notable for several things: a heavy message about ecological responsibility, its female lead protagonist, and casting Clancy Brown as one of the good guys. No relation to the 1971 made-for-TV movie Earth II.
