According to the intro crawl of the Dead Kennedys' Live at DMPO's on Broadway video, Whoopie Goldberg also made early appearances at the venue. Dirk Dirsen who wrote and directed "Amapola Presents Show" featured several of the bands in tandem with Fab Mab. The club shut down in 1986. It is now a yuppie bar. The upstairs of the building housed the just-as-legendary DMPO's on Broadway.
