| - the 'internet' its self, is just a network, its the carrier of the data, but the type of data doesnt matter. like how a hose is just a long tube, it doesnt not care, if water or chocolate milk is flowing through through it. an amazing book that explains the origins of how/where/why things exist to day is called "Where Wizards Stay Up Late" amazon. it is the story of how the first connections of the early DARPAnet were created, and how the protocols/code we use came to be (some of which havent changed much, if at all)
