  • Black Manta is an enemy of Aquaman.
  • Black Manta is a member of Toyman's Marionette Ventures team. He is assigned by Toyman to kill Aquaman.
  • His lethal high-tech suit allows him to survive underwater and adapt to any number of situations with an arsenal of destructive weaponry. Despite his prominence, Manta remains an enigmatic figure, his identity and his origins kept secret. The motivation for his villainy is a deep-seated hatred for the sea due to a personal vendetta against Aquaman. He has also been a member of O.G.R.E., the Injustice League and the Secret Society of Super-Villains. Black Manta was created by Bob Haney and Nick Cardy, first appearing in Aquaman #35 (1967).

  • Black Manta is a supervillain in the DC comics and the archenemy of Aquaman.
  • Black Manta es un villano que aparece en Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes.
  • As an adult, this man would design a costume (primarily a black wetsuit with bug-eyed helmet that was able to shoot blasting rays from its eyes) and fashioned a high-tech submersible inspired by manta rays. Taking the name Black Manta, he and his masked army would became a force to be reckoned with. The fearsome Black Manta and Aquaman battled repeatedly over the next several years. His main goal was to defeat Aquaman and gain power for himself through the conquest of Atlantis. In late 1977, Black Manta kills Arthur Curry, Jr., Aquaman's son, which left Aquaman obsessed with revenge.
  • Aquaman, like most heroes, has always emerged victorious in his battles with his costumed foes. But, moreso than almost any other hero, Aquamn's victories have been pyrrhic; he has paid dearly for his triumphs. His battle with Charybdis cost him his hand; his contest with the Shark cost him the throne of Atlantis; his ongoing struggle with the Ocean Master, his own brother, continually costs him his peace of mind. But no other villain has cost Aquaman more than the engimatic Black Manta.
  • The boy who would become Black Manta was a severely autistic young boy who grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, and loved to play by the sea. As a youth he was kidnapped and forced to work on a ship for an unspecified amount of time and was also taken advantage of. At one point he apparently saw Aquaman with his dolphin friends and tried to signal him for help but was not seen. Finally, he was forced to defend himself, killing one of his tormentors on the ship with a knife. Hating the emotionless sea (and Aquaman, who he saw as its representative), the boy was determined to become its master.
  • Black Manta has a real name, however no body knows it. So in order to tell this story properly, he will be refereed to as... Chuck. Chuck was an employee at a Sea World near a beach in Florida, where he swam as a performing diver with the whale named Shamu (known to children as Shampoo). Chuck was also a brilliant inventor who used all kinds of high tech equipment to make advanced exhibits for the animals to live in. He was actually a very successful Sea World employee. Unfortunately for him, Aquaman hated Sea World because they captured sea animals and showed them off as exhibits to the public. One night, Chuck was cleaning when Aquaman snuck in and attacked. Chuck was bombarded with water balls and fell before the mighty power of Aquaman (that's pretty sad). Aquaman freed Shamu and broug
