It served as the primary HMD/HUD system of UNSCDF combat personnel during the years prior to the Necros War, before its replacement by the AN/PSQ-5. It continues to remain in use with private military contractors and law enforcement TAR units. The AC4 is capable of linking up to 15 individuals, whose names, ranks, and medical history are programmed into the network. It possesses IFF designation systems in order to differentiate friendly and hostile combatants in the field, is able to access military GPS networks to provide tactical maps, and tracks personnel heart rates, ammunition counts, and, if applicable, energy shield meters.
