Lord Keran was a male Sith Lord who served Empress Shira during her reign of the Stellar Imperium. He was regarded as the weakest of the Sith Lords and frequently kept on military assignments. He was responsible for quarantining the Doldur Asteroid Belt after the Dantooine Virus had spread to there from Dantooine. Keran's fleet was mostly successful, but there were two notable failures. First, Alema Rar was not prevented from reaching the asteroids, and although she died, she was still able to send several reports back to the Jedi about what she found there before her death. Second, three refugees did escape the asteroids, which continued the spread of the virus.

Second, three refugees did escape the asteroids, which continued the spread of the virus. Keran was punished for his failures by the Empress herself. When it came time to demonstrate the Cyalax Virus to young Lord Welk, Shira chose Keran as the unvaccinated victim who would be compared to Darth Inferna, who had already been inoculated. Keran lost his Force powers as his midichlorian count plunged, but the virus had only slight physical effects beyond the loss of Force ability - no worse than a mild cold. He was still stripped of the Force at the end of the Stellar Imperial War in 29 ABY, and has not been heard from since. He may have died during the Battle of Angwel, fighting in a purely military capacity, or he may have fled and gone into hiding.
