  • The RG570 features a basswood body with a one-piece maple neck attached with a tilt joint with a metal plate. The Wizard neck has a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. The RG570 has Ibanez V1 and V2 humbucking pickups flanking an Ibanez S1 single-coil which are mounted to the body with pickup rings. For 1989 through 1991, the bridge is the original Edge double locking tremolo; the Edge was replaced with the newly introduced Lo-Pro Edge for 1992. Also for 1992 a new quartersawn maple neck was introduced. Other components include a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines. For 1990, the volume pot was relocated slightly further from the bridge pickup to prevent interference with the tremolo bar. The pickups also received a visual update with new logos. For the US market for 1992 the V1 & V2 humbucking pickups were replaced with the V7 & V8 pickups. The RG570DX is a similar model which was produced as a limited edition spot model with sharktooth fretboard inlays. The RG550 is a similar model with a pickguard; the RG550 also generally has a maple fretboard, though some were produced with rosewood. The RG560 is another similar model with a single coil pickup at the neck in place of the RG570's humbucker. For 1991 a version of the RG570 with a flame maple top and back, the RG570FM was introduced. The RG570GF is a similar model with a gravure flame top. A left-handed version, the RG570L was offered in 1992. The RG570M is a similar model with a maple fretboard; these seem to be quite rare. The RG570 was discontinued after 1992 in the Europe and USA, but continued to be offered in Japan. It was once again available in the USA starting in 1996.
