Venixun, despite being located along the strategic Tarkin Corridor within the Core Worlds, has always been considered a backwater by Imperial standards. The planet is largely unknown to the rest of the galaxy, but during the Post-Endor Imperial power struggle the planet was vital for its natural resources and self-sufficiency. The planet was largely ignored by the New Republic, and thus remained under Imperial control and under the control of the Interim Ruling Council during the struggle. From SW1ki, a Wikia wiki.

  • Venixun, despite being located along the strategic Tarkin Corridor within the Core Worlds, has always been considered a backwater by Imperial standards. During the Imperial Civil War, it became the target of the Imposter Palpatine's campaign to strip Emperor Bacharan Valak of his vital Tarkin Corridor, and to take Guritsan, due to the planet's proximity to the Imperial capital. Three battles took place on Venixun - the First, Second, and Third Battle of Venixun. In the final battle, the Rebel forces detonated a nuclear device, that rendered a large portion of the planet radiated for some time, until Imperial clean-up efforts were able to sufficiently clear the area.
