Jakori was born on board a freighter speeding as quickly as possible away from the snowy battlefield of Galidraan. His mother and father had been True Mandalorians under the command of Jango Fett, and had accompanied their comrades to their mission at Galidraan even though Jakori's mother, Janus Starrider, was pregnant with Jakori and fast approaching her due date. The plan was for Jakori's father, Tamas Starrider, to accompany Jango to the mission while Janus remained at the ship and provided tactical support. However, just as the mission kicked off, Janus went into labor. Rather than leave his wife alone with the med droid, Tamas stayed with her. This choice saved his life. Several hours later, with Janus still in labor, Tamas recieved an alert that Jango had come under attack from Jedi.

However, just as the mission kicked off, Janus went into labor. Rather than leave his wife alone with the med droid, Tamas stayed with her. This choice saved his life. Several hours later, with Janus still in labor, Tamas recieved an alert that Jango had come under attack from Jedi. Tamas still refused to leave his wife, and a little while later another alert declared that the True Mandalorians were being overwhelmed. Jango, understanding his subordinates desire to not leave his family, told him to run and save himself and his family. Tamas did just that, and Jakori was born just as he lifted off.
