abstract	Ren Blackstar was a Force-sensitive half-Lorrdian half-Echani male who served Emperor Palpatine as the head of the elite Imperial Shadow Guard before becoming a warlord and establishing the infamous Blackstar Order. In his youth, Ren was once a Jedi Padawan under the tutelage of Jedi Master Voolvif Monn but after his master's demise and his own capture during the Great Jedi Purge, he was tortured and brainwashed into Imperial service. With the trust of both Palpatine and Darth Vader, Blackstar led troops across the galaxy to hunt Jedi and other enemies of the Empire for years. He was also used as a pawn in the clandestine power struggle between the two Sith Lords until being cast aside by both for his failure to end Darth Maul's insurgency. Left for dead but free from the Empire's control, Ren lived for months in exile building his strength and plotting revenge against his former-masters. This led to the formation of the Blackstar Order, a league of rebels that desired the deaths of the Imperial leaders.
