| - In order to have a guild supported by staff, a home in our mod and on forums, a potential guild needs the following: 1. A Charter.
* A charter is a document setting out what the guild is, who can join, MD-appropriate references to canon etc. 2. A Stated Purpose and Goals.
* Stated Purpose and Goals is, what the guild hopes to accomplish on MD. 3. A DM Sponsor.
* It is well a documented fact that guilds without a sponsoring DM usually founder. A Sponsoring DM is a DM prepared to run NPCs, quests, and other bits that a guild needs to flourish. They will usually want to take a fairly hands-on approach, and wil in most cases have an NPC of theirs assume leadership of the guild. 4. Six (6) Active Characters, and Recruiting Strategy
* You need this many actives to prosper as a guild. Less and nothing happens. The forum ID, Gamespy ID and character name of your active members can be requested at any time by admin roll-call. This means you will need a recruiting strategy in place, and need to be always on the lookout for new members. Less than six, and poof.
* This will mean that the guild in question is not recognised by MD. It will mean that you can't have private forums for instance, and it might mean that scheduled events are less easy to obtain than a recognised guild. It doesnt mean you can't do things together, and it doesnt mean that RP is being abrogated.
