The skin up is what makes splitboards unique compared to normal snowboards. This involves splitting the splitboard into its ski like halves, attaching the climbing skins, and starting to climb up hill. If an existing skintrack exists it is usually easiest to follow it. Otherwise climbing requires breaking trail.

| - When you enter the fourth level you wonder where the console is. You don't wonder for long. You hear the robots hysterical screams from across the level.
- Now you have gone up a level of the Tower, the feeling of being watched intensifies. You wander the corridors almost aimlessly. You glance over your shoulder, sure that someone is there. But nobody ever is. You suddenly hear a high pitched bleeping.
- After you built the Fixit Governor the spider robots leave you alone. You notice many of them all going in the same direction. So you follow them. You eventually come to a small console that they seem to take orders from.
- You enter the third level of the Tower, as the door closes you hear a stream of abuse being hurled at you.
- The Obsidian Tower is an uncomfortable place to be. It's as if you are surrounded by a presence of someone you can't see. Along the corridors you hear a distant laughter.
- The Fixit Interface stands in quiet corner, you wonder if the Tower really knows the type of being that lives within it. You should plug in the Flayer Data Library to show it.
- The Fixit Interface bleeps as you return, words scroll over the small view screen, 'Have you made a Steropes Kill Count?'
- The female robot is pacing across the viewer in frustration. 'What!? Are you not dead yet? What is that OT1 Custodian doing?'
