The Mousa were one of two Tirikkin cultures that developed on the colony world Beroutz. They were obsessed with arts and philosophies, around which they developed their society. They dwelt in independent city-states like their ancestors from Hellenes Gracca, but replaced absolute monarchy with a form of direct democracy. They considered the Deriada inferior, uncultured barbarians.

  • The Mousa were one of two Tirikkin cultures that developed on the colony world Beroutz. They were obsessed with arts and philosophies, around which they developed their society. They dwelt in independent city-states like their ancestors from Hellenes Gracca, but replaced absolute monarchy with a form of direct democracy. They considered the Deriada inferior, uncultured barbarians. Mousa culture was severely altered by the G'ye Cult. The Cult declared Alabri the "god" of the Mousa and forced them to worship him. The museums of the Mousa were transformed to temples of Alabri. All philosophies contrary to Cult doctrine were outlawed, and all art had to be approved by the Cult. Direct democracy disappeared, and the Mousa were forced to live by the Cult's laws. The Mousa were forced to send their healthiest sons to be trained as soldiers in the Cult's armies, and their most beautiful daughters to Alabri's harems. Any Mousa who resisted Cult authority were assassinated by Alabri's elite bodyguard during the night, their sundered body parts seen the following morning on sacrosanct displays in city commons. Intercity trade and travel was also regulated by the Cult. While the Mousa had no military tradition to form an armed resistance as did the Deriada, they resisted by secretly keeping alive their philosophies. The democratic tradition remained alive, however, in the minds of the Mousa. Following the disollution of the Cult, the Mousa's democratic theories helped formed the framework of the consitutional monarchy which united Beroutz and Hellenes Gracca.
