CC-9217, nicknamed "Scrapper" for his high kill count, and later designated DS-92-17, was a clone trooper pilot holding the rank of commander in the Republic Navy, and later in the Imperial Navy of the Galactic Empire. Considered by his Jedi superiors to be among the top clone pilots in the Galactic Republic, Scrapper served with distinction throughout the Clone Wars, fighting in numerous battles. By the time the conflict against the Confederacy of Independent Systems was over, his kill count was in the hundreds (though this is partly because droid starfighters were not as intelligent as living pilots). When Order 66 was issued, Scrapper shot down his Jedi commander without hesitation. He went on to serve the Empire, as a pilot in the Imperial Navy, and continued commanding his unit, Hunte

He went on to serve the Empire, as a pilot in the Imperial Navy, and continued commanding his unit, Hunter Squadron. Scrapper continued to serve throughout the Imperial period conflicts and the Galactic Civil War. By 2 BBY, almost two-thirds of Hunter Squadron pilots were non-clone recruits, who replaced the clone troopers killed in action. Scrapper led Hunter Squadron in several battles against the Alliance to Restore the Republic and various other foes, including the traitorous Admiral Harkov. Recognized as a veteran ace pilot, Scrapper and Hunter Squadron was selected by the Imperal Naval Command to be among the TIE complement stationed aboard the Death Star II, in construction over Endor. When the Rebellion attacked the station, Scrapper and his pilots flew against them. He managed to shoot down more than ten Rebel pilots, and chose to pursue Rebel fighters into the station's superstructure. However, he was unable to make it out in time his fighter was destroyed by the explosion, killing him.
