Why are early tractor fenders so difficult to find? Just like all other products on the market, the world of tractor renovation is ruled by the principles of Supply and Demand. The fewer the products available, the more they are going to cost. Case in point, hard to find tractors. In 2004, a collector purchased a rare 1917 Russell 30-60 tractor for $262,500! He wanted one for his collection, and it is believed that only 6 of these Russell tractors exist in the entire world. The seller of the Russell noted that his family paid the original price of $3,000, and that his family used it for years to plow, thresh, plant and even move houses.

Some original tractor parts can also be rare, such as tractor fenders. In many cases fenders on farm tractors were a factory option. Eventually, states such as Michigan began requiring that tractors have fenders upon purchase. But, since a tractor fender was optional and represented an added expense, there are many old tractors without fenders. Today tractor enthusiasts often opt to put fenders on their restorations. Additionally, safety now dictates that tractors have fenders for tractor pulls. Steiner Tractor Parts offers high quality reproduction fenders for Farmall H, Farmall M, Farmall Super H, Farmall Super M, Farmall 300, Farmall 350, Farmall 400 and farmall 450 model tractors. These steel fenders are built to factory specifications weighing 17.25 pounds. Steiners Farmall fender is easily distinguishable from inferior reproduction fenders. Inferior reproductions are readily identifiable by the gray primer finish and at just over 13 ponds, weigh a lot less. A flat roll along the edge of the fender skin is another feature of imprecision. The fact is, hobbyists would have to pay a premium price for a used original. Fender supplies are very low. But some tractor hobbyists are unaware that Steiner sells these fenders and often overpay for an original. Whether its a rare Farmall fender or an even rarer tractor you are looking for, enjoy your hobby, and check out the Steiner Tractor Parts website for the components you need.
