- He began in the industry working as an assistant for Top Cow after graduating from UC Irvine with a Fine Arts degree. By 2002 he was working for Dark Horse on their Star Wars: Empire series. While at Top Cow, he worked on The Darkness and Witchblade, and since moving to Dark Horse has worked on a variety of Star Wars titles including Obsession, Knights of the Old Republic, and Republic. In 1996 he did background art assistance on Marc Silvestri's work for Star TreX, the first 21 pages of the issue.

After illustrating the launching issues of Knights of the Old Republic comic and then a select few afterward, began work on The Force Unleashed graphic novel. He was supposed to move on to the Rebellion comics [1][2] though the series was canceled after being put on hold. Ching has since gone back to drawing for Knights of the Old Republic regularly with Bong Dazo.
