Victory Day or V Day is often celebrated with fireworks and general partying throughout the entire week. All government jobs and schools are closed the entire week of September 22 and on the actual day of September 22 the President of the Confederation of States reads General George S. Patton's speech to his men when they captured Chicago. It is commonly called the Victory Speech.
