  • One of the five major clans which form the Grand Council of Chieftains, the governing body which rules over the New Armes Kingdom. Known as a hawkish clan, the Darja Clan held large amounts of political power in the late 440's under the influence of the Sparna family. It was the Darja Clan which pressured the King of New Armes, Jalat, to enter into an alliance with the House of Godwin during the Falenan Civil War in 450 in exchange for lands belonging to the House of Barows. However, the eventual defeat and rout of the Armes Southern Mountain Corps, which eventually led to the execution of Maha Sparna herself for abandoning her troops, greatly weakened the Darja Clan's power, rendering it helpless when Jalat, with the aid of the Madra Clan open relations with the Loyalist Army. Following the Falenan Civil War, it would appear that for the foreseeable future, peaceful cooperation with Falena will continue with the weakened position of the Darja Clan.
