"Simplified Pictograms" is one of the main auxiliary languages in the Far East. Intended first and foremost as a written tool, the language is based on a number of ideograms (a few hundred), having each a specific meaning but no given pronunciation. This way, a unilingual Japanese speaker could send a letter to a unilingual Mandarin speaker without any problem being understood. Proper names (which include breeds) are rendered thanks to some purely phonetic auxiliary symbols based on either the native name or the scientific denomination.

This way, a unilingual Japanese speaker could send a letter to a unilingual Mandarin speaker without any problem being understood. The low number of characters was done on purpose, with the idea of an oversimplification of the system so that like in some other auxiliary constructed languages, you get something like the symbol for "eye" being used in the contraction of another concept like "to see" [eye+action] "glasses" [object+(eye+action)+good]. Proper names (which include breeds) are rendered thanks to some purely phonetic auxiliary symbols based on either the native name or the scientific denomination.
