The Imperial Regalia of Japan are three ancient objects associated with the Imperial House of Japan: the Kusanagi Sword, the Yata-no-Kagami and the Yasakani-no-Magatama. They exist in real life, but are housed in sacred Japanese shrines and almost never seen in public. However, as national treasures of Japan, many replicas of them do exist. Actually, some of the objects themselves are believed to be replicas of older versions that have since been lost or destroyed.

Due to the legendary status of these items, their locations are not confirmed, but it is commonly thought that the sword is located at Atsuta Shrine in Nagoya, the jewel is located at Kokyo (the Imperial Palace) in Tokyo, and the mirror is located in the Ise Grand Shrine in the Mie prefecture.

In Mutant Ninja Turtles Gaiden, fictionalized versions of the Imperial Regalia of Japan are featured as supernatural plot devices. Two of them—the Kusanagi Sword and the Yata-no-Kagami—are explained by Karai in Chapter 21:The Curse of "Yamata-no-Orochi". The Yasakani-no-Magatama has made no confirmed appearances yet.
