Drema V was the fifth planet in the Selcundi Drema system. This system was located in the Selcundi Drema sector. All five planetary systems in this sector were prone to geological instability, but this planet was the most extreme example of the five, having shattered some time in the 150 years prior to 2365, forming an asteroid belt which contained traces of illium-629. The planet's destruction was due to the high concentration of dilithium crystals on the planet, which caused a piezoelectric effect due to the unusual lattice pattern in which they were growing. In 2365, the USS Enterprise-D became the first manned vessel to investigate the remains of this planet. (TNG: "Pen Pals" )
