They sent out a distress call to the Andromeda, who was nearby, and were brought aboard. In a convoluted series of events, it turned out that although Rafe appeared to be a Wayist apprentice, he was also a conman and an undercover agent for the Free Trade Alliance in order to bring down the Restorian movement.
