Her original basic version did not see much use, despite being an excellent military personality, due to its Honor Requirement, which was a crippling drawback to Personalities in an era where the dominant decktype for Scorpion made use of much corrupt Gold, hence negative Honor totals. The very first appearance of Bayushi Sunetra (Experienced) in Diamond Edition as the starter's fixed clan champion was considered by many Scorpion players to be a joke: at a pricey 15 gold with no particularly powerful ability or synergy with most popular decktypes, Sunetra rarely saw play, if ever at all.

  • Her original basic version did not see much use, despite being an excellent military personality, due to its Honor Requirement, which was a crippling drawback to Personalities in an era where the dominant decktype for Scorpion made use of much corrupt Gold, hence negative Honor totals. Enemy of my Enemy changed everything: Bayushi Sunetra (Experienced 2) was suddenly public enemy number one for virtually all decks the moment she hit the board. With the power to bow any ninja once per turn to give any personality -4 Chi (personalities with 0 Chi automatically die) and what some players coined "super cavalry", i.e. the ability to assign two ninjas after each maneuvers segement, it was not surprising that she earned the ire of many non-Scorpion players who complained that the card was overpowered and undercosted at a mere 13 gold. She was eventually reprinted in Lotus Edition as a rare at the same cost and Force/Chi, but with her "assassination" ability dropped to -3 Chi and allowed to only assign herself after a maneuvers segement.
