Tommy Söderström (born July 17, 1969 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a retired professional ice hockey goaltender. He played in 156 National Hockey League (NHL) games with the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders over parts of five seasons. He played junior hockey for the Djurgårdens IF junior team and played for Sweden in the 1989 World Junior Championship. Soderstrom's career was on the downslide in 1997, and he returned to Sweden and Djurggaarden for three seasons before retiring in 2000.

  • Tommy Söderström (born July 17, 1969 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a retired professional ice hockey goaltender. He played in 156 National Hockey League (NHL) games with the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders over parts of five seasons. He played junior hockey for the Djurgårdens IF junior team and played for Sweden in the 1989 World Junior Championship. In the 1989-90 he turned pro with Djurgårdens IF and won the Elitserien Rookie of the Year in 1990-91. He also won gold at the 1992 Olympics and played for Sweden at the 1991 Canada Cup. In the 1993 World Championship his team won the silver medal and he won two Swedish titles as well. He had been the Philadelphia Flyers' 214th overall pick in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. After a very succesful career in Sweden he finally joined the Flyers in the 1992-93 season. Despite heart problems which necessitated several surgeries, he put in two succesful seasons for the Flyers. Traded to the New York Islanders for Ron Hextall in 1994, he played two fine seasons for the Islanders. Soderstrom's career was on the downslide in 1997, and he returned to Sweden and Djurggaarden for three seasons before retiring in 2000.
