Play it like the short-ranged SMG, but keep a bit more distance. Do not use the altfire, unless you can kill an enemy at long range by hitting him with it and high level burning bullets, which does work with the altfire. You can use the Space-Night Special with most long-ranged weapons, as well as with the pirate pistol or the default mid-ranged SMG.
