Josiah Gunton (1861-5 March 1930) was an architect who was a member of the Corporation of London and briefly a member of the London County Council. Born in Cambridgeshire he was the son of Josiah Gunton (1818–95), a farmer, and Elizabeth née Barnes (1827–71). By 1881 he was living in Hackney and was an architect's assistant. In 1886 he married Jessie Runchman. In 1928 he was elected to the London County Council as a Municipal Reform Party councillor representing the City of London. He died suddenly at Hotel Metropole, Monte Carlo, Monaco in March 1930.
