| - This is a random calf that lives in a field with his mother and other cows. When Akakabuto attacks, the big bear kills his mother and then the calf. The narrator says that Akakabuto didn't kill the mother cow because she was the one he wanted to hunt down. He killed her so she won't try to defend her calf who was the one he was after because calves were meatier than adults.
- In human anatomy the calf (also calf of the leg) is the back portion of the lower leg. Major Anne Teldy complained about having to walk so far while on a unnamed planet to which Lt. Colonel John Sheppard replied that had he been notified they could have arranged a Puddle Jumper. Teldy's response was that the exercise was good, firming up the glutes and calves. (SGA: "Whispers")
- Calf is the king of Leonster, the father of Quan, and the grandfather of Leif and Altena, mentioned only in the Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 Illustrated Works and designer's note. He is described as a lance unit on horseback. Calf led Leonster's army to fight Thracia following their invasion of the Manster District. Before reaching Manster, which was facing the full front of Thracia's invasion, Calf entered Conote to gather promised allies from the young King Carl and his trusted vassal, Raydrik, a powerful noble of Conote. During the Battle of River Thracia, part of the Conote army attacked the Leonster army from the rear under orders from Raydrik. Calf battles Raydrik, but is killed and defeated by Raydrik's soldiers.
