To acquire what's in the loot chest, simply walk up to it and press the Shift key. A contents window will appear. The pirate can then pick and choose what they want or select Take It All. If a pirate has found an item and has no room to store it, they will be unable to take that item unless they delete an item from their inventory. A loot chest will disappear after 1 minute if all of the loot inside isn't taken. File:Famed in a loot chest.jpg

  • There are two kinds: Blue and Gold. Blue chests are more common and appear on most hostile planets and in Towns. Gold chests, found in large quantities on Plaguelands and The Whisperwood planets, rarely appear where a blue chest would normally spawn on most other hostile planets; to compensate for their rarity, they reward you with more Credits and Scrap Metal. (Whether they also give more of the other rewards as well is still being researched.) __NOEDITSECTION__
  • Loot Chests are collectible items that contain a random selection of items, including alternate skins, banners, emojis, voice lines, sprays, and more. They contain four random items, including playable Heroes and Loot Chest-exclusive items.
  • Chests spawn in predetermined areas around Destiny. Some common places include small caves and small rooms in many buildings, but chests can also spawn behind objects, like crates outside in certain locations. Chests can also spawn on cliffs and on top of objects, like crates. After respawning, they are usually in the same general location, however the exact location will vary. The player can attempt to respawn a chest by leaving the area and returning after a few minutes have passed, but chest locations are not guaranteed to spawn a chest every time they are visited. All chests make a slight humming noise, when in close proximity. This is the same noise made by Spinmetal, Helium Filaments, Spirit Bloom, and Relic Iron but at a much lower volume.
