| - The Squires are vicious killing robots manufactured by the Forever Knights, that appear in The Unnaturals.
- Squires is a technology in Age of Empires II that can be researched at the Barracks once the Castle Age is reached. Once researched, it increases infantry speed by +10%. Squires is available to all civilizations except for the Celts, Khmer, Magyars, and Portuguese. Note that, despite lacking Squires, the Celts have the fastest moving infantry in the game due to their civilization bonus that gives their infantry +15% speed.
- The first Squires were created soon after Artemis made the first Dark-Hunters in 7382 B.C. Acheron Parthenopaeus recognized immediately that the Dark-Hunters would need help, so he demanded that Artemis provide human servants for them. A Squire works with a Dark-Hunter, usually living in the same house, and–to the outside world–appearing to be the owner. It is a Squire’s job to attend to all the day-to-day monotony of running the household so the Dark-Hunter can focus on killing Daimons. Squires are often at risk since the Daimons know a Squire is an emotional attachment for the Dark-Hunter.
- The series starts when two squires meet at a tournament both of their knights are participating in. The Buffalo's Squire thinks that if the Buffalo wins, he will make him a member of his guard. But then Sir Gayline's Squire tells him that the Buffalo has never won a tournament before, which depresses the squire. The Buffalo shows up for his lance, which his Squire gives to him out of fear. Buffalo's Squire then asks who Sir Gayline's Squire's knight is. Sir Gayline's Squire tells him and Buffalo's Squire then asks if they could use another Squire, but is turned down. Soon Sir Gayline comes for his lance while riding backwards on his horse.
- Becoming a squire is the second step of a Knights training. The squire is chosen by an experienced active Knights as his apprentice and train with him for four and a half years, after which the Ordeal of Knighthood is taken. A squire is generally expected to take care of his knights equipment, horse and to wait upon the knight and his guests. He in return teaches the squire about the way of the knights and lets them have some real battle-experience.

Soon Sir Gayline comes for his lance while riding backwards on his horse. After the tournament ends both squires began complaining about how their knights failed. The duo then decided to look for some new knights and begin advertising themselves. They both wonder how they can advertise themselves, when the Orange Squire comes up with the idea to make a sign. People soon notice them, but in the wrong way due to the squires not realizing that people think they are selling their bodies. The Orange Squire soon tells the Blue Squire he got the idea from some woman doing it the day before. They soon look across the street to see two women selling their bodies and are oblivious to what the women are really selling.

Squires are often at risk since the Daimons know a Squire is an emotional attachment for the Dark-Hunter. If a Dark-Hunter is in danger, it is the Squire’s responsibility to pull him or her out, although the Squire doesn’t have immortality or psychic abilities. Like the Dark-Hunters they serve, they are extremely well paid for their services.

A squire is generally expected to take care of his knights equipment, horse and to wait upon the knight and his guests. He in return teaches the squire about the way of the knights and lets them have some real battle-experience. He is also partly responsible for the actions of his squire during this time and is therefore also expected to discipline the youngster if necessary.
