Sobukwe(VEF127) was born on January 8, 2008, into the Elveera group. Her parents were Jo Jo Hello, the dominant female, and Teabag, the dominant male. Sobukwe's litter-mates were Tutu(VEM126), Sisulu(VEPM128), Luthuli(VEPM129), and VEP130; sadly, VEP130's life was cut short as merely a pup by a bird of prey. Albeit, Sobukwe and her three brothers survived to adulthood and stayed in Elveera as a subordinate female for the next year. In February of 2009, she was tragically bitten by a puff adder and died soon after. After her death, TB strangled and gradually eliminated the Elveera, but Sobukwe's litter-mates happened to be in an Elveera splinter group that only disappeared from the research area, leaving room to believe they may be alive elsewhere.
