When DunBroch becomes under threat of invaders from Camelot, King Fergus and the United Clans make camp on the Southern Moor as they prepare for battle. One day, Merida walks through the camp with her father as she sees some of the soldiers writing their wills, believing they'll die in battle. Fergus goes on to give his daughter his bow and reveals he's hired a soldier, Mulan, to train her how to fight. Merida and Mulan train on the Southern Moor, but during the training Lord Macintosh, Lord MacGuffin and Lord Dingwall watch from afar, mocking them because they're women. This makes Merida worry about how she'll get the clans to follow her into battle when she's queen, but Mulan tells her to ask someone who knows how to inspire people; Fergus. Later on, the day of the battle between Camelot
