- Cameron Mitchell (November 4, 1918 - July 6, 1994) was an American actor who appeared in the MST3K Experiments Stranded in Space (as George Benedict) and Space Mutiny (as Alex Jansen). He later appeared in the RiffTrax/RiffTrax Presents releases Frankenstein Island, Viva Knievel!, Supersonic Man, Flight to Mars, and Deadly Prey. The son of a minister, Mitchell began working on Broadway and participated in an experimental television broadcast. When World War II was declared, Mitchell enlisted in the US Army Air Force and served as a bombardier.

He was a talented United States Air Force pilot where he was given the callsign "Shaft", and led forces in the Battle of Antarctica in 2004, where he was grievously injured. He was promoted to full-bird Colonel in 2008 and continues to lead SG-1 to this day with Mitchell's leadership style being similar to delta teams where everyone participates to the fullest of their abilities and defers to the specialist quickly when needed.

Après avoir récupéré, il demanda à rejoindre SG-1, juste pour découvrir que les autres membres, Carter, Teal'c et le Docteur Daniel Jackson ont prit des postes différents, mais après quelques mois, il rassembla finalement l'équipe originale (sans le Général Jack O'Neill). La plupart du temps qu'il a passé au commandement de SG-1, il a combattu les Ori ainsi que les Goa'uld, particulièrement Ba'al. Il fut récemment promu Colonel. Il est avec Vala Mal Doran le seul membre de SG-1 à ne pas apparaitre dans Stargate Atlantis.
