The CSS column-count property was introduced in CSS3. It can be used to set the ideal number of columns into which the content of the element will be flowed. Currently, no browsers support this property (maybe Firefox 4.0 and IE9), but some browsers have their own vendor extensions which produce the same effect (see below).
