Paramount's lease with The Record Plant finished towards the end of the second season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and the facility shut down for financial reasons. Recording for Next Generation episodes moved to the 20th Century Fox Scoring Stage for the next four years. The stage reopened in 1992 , and score recording resumed there. The stage closed permanently in 2006 , the building being demolished to be replaced by a new post-production facility.
