Synopsis
| - Green Arrow and Speedy must cope with the thieving ways of a flying crook known as the Vulture-Man.
- When Dr. John Carr puts on a demonstration of his new discover a "thought amplifier" before a scientific society, he is unaware that his presentation is being watched by crooked ex-scientist Victor Danning. Overhearing that one key ingredient is missing in the formula, Danning vows to steal it, find the missing component and make himself super-intelligent. When news of Carr's discovery hits the television news Bruce Wayne realizes the potential danger of having Carr's invention made public knowledge. So, Bruce changes into Batman and takes Robin with him to warn Carr of the danger. When news of Carr's invention reaches the Daily Planet in Metropolis, Clark Kent gets the same idea and decides to make a trip to Gotham City to see if he can assist Batman in anyway.
Batman and Robin arrive on the scene first just as Danning has finished tying up Carr. When Danning fires his gun, Batman pushed Robin out of the way, making the bullet miss the boy but graze the Dark Knight instead. Superman arrives just as Danning and Robin get into a struggle. Their fight activates the machine suddenly both Superman and Robin are enveloped in it's rays. After Danning manages to escape, they all soon realize that Robin has gained Superman's super-intelligence, while the Man of Steel has been reduced to a blundering idiot. They also realize that since Danning was also in the beams path he also gained super-intelligence as well. Needing both Robin and Danning to restore Superman back to normal, the three heroes rush off to try and capture Danning before he can exploit his new-found intelligence.
After studying a file on Danning, Robin goes out with Superman and Batman to try and track him down. Danning meanwhile initiates his first criminal plot: pumping water from the ocean into Gotham City's water supply, they flood the city and use a specially made sub to rob the Gotham City Bank.
Realizing that the three heroes could prove to be a menace to his plans, Danning begins blasting dynamite to cause seismic waves so that he can pinpoint the location of the Batcave. Robin deduces what Danning is doing and sends Superman out to counteract his plan and then using a specially made pair of binoculars made to boost Superman's x-ray vision try to find Danning's warehouse. Danning however is miles ahead of the slow mind of Superman and ducks into a lead factory for cover, masking him from Superman's x-ray vision.
When Superman returns to Batman and Robin who are flying above the city in the Batplane, they notice that Danning is spying on them with miniature flying recorders, however Superman smashes it before they can get a close look. Returning to the Batcave, Robin sends Batman to talk to Commissioner Gordon while he goes to examine Carr's intelligence machine once more. As Batman speeds off, he notices that more of Danning's spy recorders are following him, and so he tells Commissioner Gordon that Carr found a way to make his machine work and will make Batman also super smart.
Overhearing this, Danning and his goons rush to Carr's lab and attempt to steal the machine. They catch Robin and Superman off guard, downing the Man of Steel with a Kryptonite missile. However before they can get any further, "Carr" suddenly swings into action and knocks them all out. "Carr" reveals himself to be Batman in disguise, who came up with a way to trick Danning into coming to them. With the crook defeated and Superman revived, the heroes use the machine to restore Superman, Robin and Danning's original intelligence. As Superman streaks off to drop Danning and his minions off at the police station, Robin admits that while he misses being super smart, he's glad to have Superman back at his peak mental abilities.
