The Mermaids are one of the many mystical groups of beings that inhabit the magic island of Neverland. They first appeared in Disney's classic 1953 animated film Peter Pan, which is based upon J.M Barrie's 1911 novel of the same name. The mermaids also reappear in its 2002 sequel. They are voiced by June Foray, Connie Hilton, Margaret Kerry, and Karen Kester. Disney's portrayal of the Neverland mermaids are not as dark nor as sinister as they are in Barrie's book, but are much more communicative and civilized.

- Mermaids appeared as minor characters in the 2003 version Peter Pan and in contrast to most fairy tale depictions they were portrayed as malevolent sirens, more akin to their folkloric counterparts: although they played only a small role in the film Peter Pan told Wendy that Mermaids were known to drown people that got too near. Indeed one Mermaid attempted to lure Wendy into the water, seemingly harmless, yet revealed a demonic visage when Peter Pan frightened her away.
